Privacy Policy

This policy explains what data AirScoreBoard collects when you run tournaments, why we collect it, and the choices you have. We keep it to what the app actually needs to work.

01Who’s responsible for your data

AirScoreBoard (“we,” “us,” “our”) operates the AirScoreBoard app and airscoreboard.com, and is responsible for the personal data described here. For any privacy question, contact us at support@airscoreboard.com.

02What we collect

Account information

When you sign in with a provider such as Apple or Google, we receive a user identifier and basic details like your email address and name, which we use to create and secure your account.

Tournament content you create

The tournaments, categories, players, seedings, matches, and scores you enter. Player entries can include names, photos, and other details you choose to add about the people competing.

Collaboration invites

When you invite someone to help run a tournament, we store the email address you invite so we can grant them access once they sign in, and show you the roster of collaborators.

Photos and uploads

Logos, player photos, and other images you upload, which we store to display within your tournaments.

Messages you send us

If you use the contact form on our website, we receive the name, email address, and message you submit so we can respond.

Technical and diagnostic data

Standard information needed to operate a networked app securely — for example device and app-integrity signals (used to confirm requests come from a genuine app install), connection metadata, and error diagnostics.

03How we use it

• To provide the service: build draws, record results, and keep your data in sync across your devices and your collaborators in real time.
• To authenticate you and protect accounts, tournaments, and data from unauthorized access and abuse.
• To operate, maintain, debug, and improve the app.
• To communicate with you about the service, and to respond to messages you send us.

We do not sell your personal data or use your tournament content for advertising.

04Legal bases

Where data-protection laws such as the GDPR apply, we rely on: performance of our agreement with you (to provide the service you request); our legitimate interests (to keep the service secure and working well); your consent (where we ask for it); and compliance with legal obligations.

05Cookies, analytics & similar technologies

Our website uses Google Analytics (GA4) to understand, in aggregate, how the site is used — for example which pages are visited and whether the store badges or contact form are used. This relies on first-party analytics cookies and identifiers set in your browser. We use this to improve the site, not to build advertising profiles, and we don’t use cross-site advertising trackers.

Our contact form is protected by Google reCAPTCHA and Firebase App Check, which check that submissions come from a real browser and not an automated abuser. These use cookies and device signals for that security purpose and are subject to Google’s privacy policy and terms.

06Who we share it with

Collaborators you invite. Tournament data is visible to the people you add to that tournament, in the role you give them.

Event visibility. Every event has a visibility setting the organizer chooses. A private event can be opened only by the organizer’s collaborators, the people registered in it, and anyone the organizer gives its link or QR code. A hidden event can also be opened by anyone who has its link or QR code. A visible event additionally appears in the Discover feed and in event search in the AirScoreBoard apps — including searches by location and sport — to any signed-in user. New events start private.

What participants and spectators see. Anyone who can open an event sees its name, sport, dates, venue and location, the organizer’s name, its categories, draws, schedules and courts, and match results and scores, including live updates. For each competitor they see the name the organizer entered, a country flag, any photo or team logo, and whether the entry is linked to a player account. They do not see contact details, date of birth, gender, or city and state — those are shown only to the organizer and the collaborators they invite, and are removed before data reaches participants and spectators, over both the app and live score updates.

Organizer profiles. An organizer’s public profile — organization name, logo, address, social links, and their visible events — can be viewed by any signed-in user of the apps and is shown on their events. Phone numbers are never shown there.

Player profiles and following. If you hold a player account, your display name, photo, and follower and following counts are visible to any signed-in user. Your location, flag, preferred sports, team logo, and match results are visible only when you set your profile to public, to people whose follow request you accept, and to you. Contact details, date of birth, and gender are never part of a player profile.

Digital awards. When an organizer issues a digital award, we publish a page for it at a link the recipient can share. Anyone with the link can see the recipient’s name as the organizer entered it, the event and category, the placing or award title, the organizer’s name, the issue date, a reference code, and any message the organizer wrote; link previews in messaging apps and social networks show the same details. The page shows no contact details and no photos. The organizer can withdraw an award at any time, after which its page says so. If you received an award and want it taken down, contact the organizer or us.

Service providers. We host data and run core functions on Google Firebase / Google Cloud (authentication, Firestore database, file storage, analytics, and app-integrity checks). They process data on our behalf under their terms and security controls.

Legal reasons. We may disclose data if required by law or to protect the rights, safety, and security of our users and the service.

07Where data is stored and how we protect it

Your data is stored on Google Cloud infrastructure. We protect it with encryption in transit, provider-managed encryption at rest, per-owner access controls, and app-integrity verification on requests. Access to your tournaments is limited to you and the collaborators you authorize. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to safeguard your data appropriately.

08How long we keep it

We keep your account and content while your account is active so you can access your tournament history. When you delete something, it’s marked as deleted and removed from your views, then cleared from active storage. If you close your account or ask us to delete your data, we’ll delete it, except where we must retain limited information to meet legal obligations.

09Your rights and choices

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, export, or delete your personal data, and to object to or restrict certain processing. You can edit or delete much of your content directly in the app, or contact us at support@airscoreboard.com and we’ll help. If you add other people’s information to a tournament, please pass along their requests to us or handle them as their organizer.

You can limit website analytics through your browser’s cookie controls or Google’s Analytics opt-out. We don’t send marketing email as a matter of course; if we ever do, you’ll be able to opt out.

10Regional privacy rights

EEA, UK & Switzerland. If you’re in these regions, you have the GDPR rights described above, and you may lodge a complaint with your local data-protection supervisory authority if you have concerns about how we handle your data.

US state residents. Depending on your state (for example California), you may have rights to know what personal information we collect, to access or delete it, and to not be discriminated against for exercising those rights. We don’t sell your personal information. Contact us to exercise any of these rights.

11People whose information an organizer adds

Organizers add player information to run their events. If your details were added by an organizer and you want to access, correct, or remove them, please contact that organizer first — they control that tournament’s data, and we process it on their behalf. You can also reach us and we’ll route your request appropriately.

12Children

AirScoreBoard isn’t directed to children, and you must be at least 13 to hold an account. Organizers may run events that include minors as players; if you add a minor’s information, you’re responsible for having the right to do so, including any parental consent required where you operate.

13International transfers

Your data may be processed in countries other than where you live, including where our cloud providers operate. Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards for such transfers.

14Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the app evolves. We’ll change the date above and, for material changes, let you know in the app where appropriate.
